Over the past decade or so I’ve been involved with recruiting talented professionals for clients and organizations of all sizes. During that time, the topic of video resumes has periodically been addressed as a possible replacement for traditional resumes only to get debunked by legal departments for fear of lawsuits by those candidates who did not get hired. The concern is that young professionals who may be considered less than attractive, and not brought in for an interview, might attempt to cause waves. For now, video resumes are a thing of the future, if at all.
How does that affect me?
The good news: I don’t have any legal concerns by posting video resumes on my site. For the time being, my sole purpose for posting resumes is to give candidates some much needed exposure in hopes they get discovered. Here’s the caveat, I am going to be EXTREMELY selective of whose resume I’m willing to post on this page. I’ve put together a list of criteria should you wish to be included.
- You must demonstrate a willingness to go above and beyond; anyone can be average!
- Your follow-up has to be timely and consistent; I don’t have time to waste and neither do you.
- You MUST be able to demonstrate prior success, even recent college graduates have significant accomplishments.
- I have to like you. Period.
What’s the benefit of being included in this exclusive group?
- You might get discovered by your future employer.
- You’re getting a recommendation by me for being included on this page.
- You might get a job as an actor/actress (but probably not).
So how does this work?
Feel free to view video resumes which are found under the Drop Box – Video Resumes Page. If you are looking to connect with any of the candidates, you must submit the form below each of their video resumes. Only serious inquires will be considered and you will be notified via email.
